And not in a mug shot… According to multiple sources, former Kentucky Coach and failed experiment, Billy Gillispie has been spotted and interviewed by a media outlet. Here are the key points:

- He currently resides in the Big “D” and I do mean Dallas…. Texas

- He is currently looking for work and eager to get back to coaching

- He has been attending NBA practices and high school games

- Claims he loved it at UK and has no animosity for the firing, calling it “thats part of the business.”

- On his latest and greatest DUI: “I made a mistake; it was a real bad decision. I can’t act like it didn’t happen. I should have known better. I have to deal with it and move on.”

- “I love college basketball… I love the recruiting, which is a passion of mine. You have players who, when they leave you, have their whole lives in front of them. Relationships with players last forever.”

In complete honesty I feel bad for the guy in a way. He was on top of the world here at Kentucky and had his pedestal pulled right from under him. He sucked, his antics sucked and everything else he did here made me and the rest of the Kentucky fan base miserable. I am thankful for Cal and it’s crazy what a difference one can make, but you have to feel sorry for BCG in a way.

I truly believe BCG tanked it on purpose to get out of the Kentucky job.

I dont think he tanked it on purposes, but he was never comfortable at UK.

I heard reports that he wanted to go back to Texas A&M as soon as he got to Lexington. Texas A&M told him no thanks. Then the way he handled everything. From treating the alumni like crap to just making stupid coaching decisions makes it easy for the University to can him. Just my opinion Ryan.

I also thought he tanked it because he had been exposed as incompetent and was miserable under that spotlight. But I don’t think he ever intended to get caught DWI – that was a break for us, saving the University about 3 million dollars. At the end of the day Billy is again a happy man. Now with fame (or infamy depending on your character) and fortune living in the comfortable surrounds of his hidy hole, and still enough of a dullard to want to try again to have it both ways. That being an incompetent scoundrel that covets attention and praise but living within a lifestyle that allows for hasty retreat into his cacoon when things get tough. You have to feel sorry for him, I don’t.
