We all know of the importance of putting players into the league. It’s obviously appealing to recruits and it shows signs things are headed in the right direction because you have talent coming through the door. At least I think that is how it would feel. The truth is, I wouldn’t know because we haven’t really put many guys into the NFL since the turn of the millennium through the draft. In fact, Kentucky is second to last for first rounders in the SEC with 1 in 11 years, just behind Mississippi State, hell, even Vandy has 2. In terms of overall draft picks since 2000, Kentucky sits tied with Mississippi St. for second to last place in the league with 18.
