We are currently experiencing a very comfortable morning in the bluegrass. I hope you and yours are doing the same, no matter your location. Unless, you are at the beach, and I hope it is raining. Holla!

– As you may know, former Kentucky football player, T.C. Drake was in a terrible motorcycle accident recently. He remains in critical condition after suffering massive head trauma. His mother has updated the friends and family of Drake on his FaceBook page. This was posted by her last night, “Quick update on TC…. No major changes yet, he has had a roller coaster ride for a few days but is stable again. Still critical. Thanks for all the prayers and concerns… TC is one blessed young man to have all the friends he does… Keep the prayers coming…. Thumbs up TC…“ We are still thinking about you here T.C.

– After Alex Meyer was taken by the nationals in the first round of the MLB draft Monday, 4 more cats showed up in the 2011 MLB draft yesterday. With the 287th pick over-all, the Detroit Tigers chose outfielder, Chad Wright, in the 9th round. The Boston Red Sox chose Braden Kapteyn in the 15th round. The Phillies chose shortstop, Taylor Black, in the 16th round of the draft. Finally, the Pittsburgh Pirates chose right-hander, Jordan Cooper, in the 23rd round yesterday. Good luck to all of the future star cats in the professional ranks!

– Kentucky scheduled three basketball games with Samford, including one in Birmingham. According to al.com, new Samford athletics director Martin Newton has wasted little time tapping into his UK connections. According to the site, “Samford has a signed contract to play three basketball games against Kentucky the next three seasons, with two of those games at Rupp Arena in Lexington and the final one here in Birmingham at either the Pete Hanna Center on the Samford campus or at the BJCC Arena downtown.“ The first game will take place at Rupp Arena this season on December 20. The series will continue in 2013 and 2014.

– In very sad news, former Duke guard, Thomas Emma, jumped from the 12th floor of the New York Athletic Club in NYC to his death. The New York Post is reporting that the 49 year old former Duke team captain was recently dealing with health issues, but could not provide further details.

– Dallas, once again, made a 4th quarter rally to lock-up the NBA Finals at 2 games a piece. The Mavs shutdown King James and the heat, 86-83. LBJ had 8 points? In the entire game? Am I the only one who smells a fix? If the King’s 8 points doesn’t point that out, maybe the fact Jamaal Magloire did not play again does? Fishy.

– The TGR-MLB update… Tampa won their 2nd straight, 4-1 over the Angels. The Reds won their 2nd straight, 8-2 over the Cubs. The braves shutout the marlins, 1-0. None of the 5 cats taken in the MLB draft will play their entire careers with a TGR favorite, b/c none of them were drafted by either of the three.

Fertig has big things planned for you today! He was talking about removing an article of clothing each time someone commented on one of his posts, but I am snot sure if he is still down for that. C! A! T! S!
