Monday Morning Mullet: Keep It In The Family

Several weeks ago, I introduced you all to the “Kentucky Waterfall”, today I’d like you to meet his son.  It’s hard to put a name on something this grotesque, so I shall call it the “Bun of Fun”.  He has delicately wrapped his Mullet in a bun that only a mother could love.

I should have asked if I could braid it… Here is his fathers link!

There’s no better way to start off the week than seeing a most awesome mullet on Monday morning. I pride  myself in  being somewhat of an amateur paparazzi, well at least when it comes to mullets and other hideous sites.  If you would like to send me your own pictures of an awesome mullet or anything else I might enjoy, please e-mail at MondayMorningMullet@gmail.com

Monday Morning Mullet

Good morning Mulleteers, I give you “Animullet”!!!  This fine specimen was found at a local hospital, where I believe doctors were actually trying to permanently attach this full fox fur to this woman’s head.  She was wearing a mink coat as well that didn’t really match the fox ponytail.  What really makes this “Animullet” so wonderful is the fact that I truly believe that the whole fox (minus paws and head) was on her head.  Some people grow a mullet, some people buy them.

Today I bring you some sort of other beast. Although Monday Morning Mullets have been strong with the wicked hair style to this point in time, I wanted to introduce you to “Denim Dan”. Four Hundred Pounds of handsome denim.

One has to go to extreme measures to pull off such an outfit.  I hope that if I ever run into this Denim God again, he has grown the necessary mullet to match his clothes.

Sacrificial Lamb?

It’s about 30 min to game time and there is only one thing on every Kentucky fans mind in the Georgia Dome: Will Doron Lamb Play?

Lamb, after sustaining a high ankle sprain in a victory over Alabama, has come out dressed to play but looks very uncomfortable.  Liggins, who also suffered the same injury, looks like he’s ready for business.

As a shoot around warmup is not a good indicator of Lambs ability to play, it’s not giving Kentucky much hope of seeing the freshman star play. However, on the scoreboard, 20 is listed as starting along with Miller, Jones, Knight and Jorts. But who knows for sure.

Let’s hope we can get a win, with or without the rising superstar.

UPDATE: Lamb has been taken down from the scoreboard and Liggins is starting.

Half Time Update

What an exciting first half! The Cats show up again with a great amount of intensity and sense or urgency to win this game.

With little production from Jones, and Knight being a little cold as well, Lamb, Miller and Jorts are carrying the team. Liggins is having a strong defensive presence as well.

There is still 20 minutes of basketball left though and a strong opponent that isn’t known for quitting. Kentucky needs to come out strong in the second half and continue to play hard. They have to control the boards a little better than the first half and cut out the second chance points.

Finally, I can’t even begin to describe how loud it is, it’s almost like they teleported Rupp to Atlanta. Our fans have really turned this place into a second home for the Cats. Go Big Blue!

Live From The Georgia Dome…

With 1:27 left yesterday, I was sweating bullets and about to kill a ref. The Cats played it out and got the big W.

Ole Miss had something to prove and wasn’t gonna take it laying down. Both teams showed up for the second half battling back and forth. Kentucky would go up by 12 then a minut later be only up by 3.

The refs looked like they just left the St. Johns vs Rutgers game the entire second half. I haven’t seen so many bad calls since the season finale of Crank Yankers 8 years ago.

The Cats have along way to go if the want to take home the title. Jones and Liggins have to show up against Alabama today if we’re gonna see the Cats in the final game.

We saw a heartbreak loss on Alabama’s court a few months back but the Cats are a different team that shows a hunger for wins more than ever. Kentucky needs to control the paint, block out and not let Green get the best of them. Let’s GO CATS!!! BRING THE TITLE HOME!!!

Talk About A Sea Of Blue

TGR’s On the Ground Field Correspondent Carson Lilly:

Walking into Georgia dome you finally get a sense of how crazy big blue nation is. It’s more than an hour before the Kentucky game starts and it’s a sea of blue filling the seats of the Georgia Alabama game. Don’t be fooled by the empty red seats, those are all Kentucky fans that haven’t made their way down to the court yet. That’s right, people are holding their own personal pep rallies in groups of 15-30 at the top of each section. Several groups were actually trying to make up some custom cheers for when the game finally gets started. I hope the players come out as ready and energetic as all of us Wildcat fans!

Today’s mullet, although a little late, is still a great one. World, I’d like to introduce you to “Androgyny Mullet”. Although I didn’t have a chance to ask, I’m sure her name is Chris, Pat or Andy. The jacket really tied the outfit together and made shims sex appeal very enticing.

Monday Morning Mullet: Tommy Mulletfiger

This weeks edition brings a whole new meaning to the word classy.  “Tommy Mulletfiger” was dressed to the 9’s in this retro Tommy polo from the early 1990’s, and he was ready for a party.  He even went as far as to break out, the always sexy, Magnum P.I. mustache (google “Tom Selleck Magnum” if there’s any confusion).  I have to say though, the sexiest addition to his wavy locks, striking mustache and expensive shirt is the cigarette burn hole right below the third green stripe.

Somewhere between his seventh and tenth beer, and near the end of the pack of Kool’s he finished in an hour, he let his cherry drop making this outfit ten times better than it already was.  Thanks Mr. Mulletfiger, you make me happy it’s Monday.

Oh No! Not Again….

Category: Random Notes

After coming home from the ER last night from suffering another “Loss Induced” heart attack, I couldn’t do anything but think about what an awful display of basketball I had just endured. My faith in this team slowly slipped away as I realized that they are too exhausted, too young and just don’t care enough to win.

What is it gonna take to win on the road? Oh wait, I’ve  already answered that question before and the Cats still have not produced a conference victory on the road that really counts (first person to leave a comment about South Carolina gets banned from the site). The Cats played a horrible Arkansas team that would struggle to beat an under 17 AAU team on a good day.  In typical fashion Kentucky looked like a bunch elementary school kids playing H.O.R.S.E. in the gym.

Terrance Jones didn’t pass, got blocked or double teamed, and pouted like a 4 year old the entire game. He had a lousy 10 pts and 8 rebounds, and needs to grow up and step up his game.  He’s supposed to be one of the best players in the country and he couldn’t even get a double double against Arkansas? If Cal could have benched his ass he would have but Lamb was in his spot. Which brings me to my next point.

Cal hasn’t had the ability to just bench a player to punish him obviously because the lack of depth. Last night he must have decided to throw that idea out because Lamb sat for at least 25 minutes. I don’t blame Cal for doing it either. Lamb didn’t play defense and got out hustled on every possession. It was really the first time he didn’t play offense either, 2 pts 0 rebounds, I could have been more productive than that.

Brandon Knight, who always shows up, and Jorts, who had a double double and a ferocity to win, were really the only consistent players last night. Darius played ok but still looks like he is struggling with being a confident player. For now he is a variable player that switches on and off too frequently (I think his new nickname should be DMX, Darius Miller Unknown). He needs to learn some  cockiness from Liggins.

Speaking of Liggins, he should be smacked for his temper tantrum which lead to the technical foul. That’s the second time he’s had a circus side show in the middle of the game that has lead to getting T’d up! I appreciate your passion, but don’t take it too far to where you’re possibly changing the outcome of a game.

As much as I hate to say it, I think the best thing for this team could possibly be to lose in the first round of the SEC tournament and get some rest. I can’t see that playing four days of continuous basketball is gonna do the Cats any good. I have a feeling that if Kentucky doesn’t find it’s rhythm before the NCCA  tournament begins, Kentucky fans will end up cheering on other teams to beat Louisville because the Cats will get knocked out early.

I’ve been optimistic all season hoping that Kentucky would find a cohesion that would lead them down a road filled with victory and glory, but my optimism has worn off and all I can see is a dark alley filled with broken hearts and shattered dreams. Come on Cats, prove me wrong.
